How to care for your dutch oven
Our dutch ovens come pre seasoned and ready to use.
We advise you to give it a pit of a clean buy adding some hot water and giving it a wipe when you first receive it.
Although your dutch oven is pre-seasoned before use, give the inside a good wipe with some cooking oil or fat before each use. This will help stop food sticking to your dutch oven.
When finished cooking, never add cold water to a hot dutch oven. Let the dutch oven cool down until you can touch it or add hot water.
To clean after use, add water and put back on heat, if food is stuck on use a wooden implement to remove this food. Tip out water. Repeat until all food has gone.
Tip out the water and place dutch oven back on heat to dry dutch oven and force out any remaining moisture. This should only take 5 minutes or so.
Finally give your dutch oven a good coating with our Dutch Oven Seasoning Conditioner
or cooking oil over all surfaces. Use some kitchen towel to wipe off any excess.
To store your dutch oven it is best to store it in a Dutch Oven Transport Bags. Sit
the dutch oven on the lid to allow air to move around the dutch oven and allow it
to breath.
